Little N's New Toy

Little N's new favorite toy is Mommy's pink purse. We keep putting it away and he just keeps on taking it out. He keeps a little toy phone in it. Sometimes he talks on the phone, while walking around with the purse on his shoulder. If any of you have heard Little N pretend to talk on the phone, that is funny enough in itself, but add the pink purse and it's impossible not to laugh. He is a very animated little conversationalist. Almost every conversation ends with "okay, okay, okay....bye!"

Maybe he's gearing up to play with a little sister? I would like to think so, but my hunch is that he just really likes the pink purse with the zipper on it! Anyone want to go shopping?

Fun filled week!

We, the V family, had a fantastic, fun filled week. First, Little N's Mooma decided to come to Minnesota to work for the week and she stayed with us! Yipee! Little N, however, was a little upset at first when he found out she wasn't bringing his Boompa. We did have lots of fun getting to hang out every night though! Sounds like she may come a time or two more in the near future. We are pretty excited about that! On Friday, P and S hosted our monthly dinner club. It was only our second time meeting. It was tons of fun. There are 14 people total in the club and we take turns hosting every month. It's so much fun to hang out with so many good friends and know that we are going to do it regularly....with no kids! :) Also, this week P's friend TR2(where Little N goes to daycare) went to Barbados for the week. Though we were very jealous, there was something good that came out of it. Little N got to spend the week at his friend Little T's house. They are becoming very good buds lately and had a great time together. Little N shed tears quite a few of the days this week when he had to leave! Little T is only a few months younger than Little N and they really seem to enjoy each other, which is great because once Baby V #2 comes and P goes back to work, Little N and sis will be spending 2 days a week at Little T's house.

On Saturday, Little N had gymnastics again. He had a lot of fun, as usual. If he gets anything out of this class, P is hoping for a little patience and listening skills(yeah right, I can dream can't I??)

Then on Sunday was Little T's 2nd birthday. We went to T's house for a fun filled birthday bash. Lots of kids to play with! Little N loved it! Little T was a little overwhelmed by all the people(Little N was at his party too), but I think he had a good time overall. Here are some pictures of the party. Little T had an awesome dinosaur birthday cake.
Below is Little N cheering on Little T to blow out the candles.

Mmmm....yummy! Have a great week everyone!

Happy Birthday to you Auntie A!

Yesterday was Auntie A's birthday, so we had the V gang over for dinner. Little N and cousin J had a blast playing together. It's so nice that they actually have an interest in each other now. We had pizza, which just might be Little N's favorite food(just like his Daddy!). He scarfed down 4 pieces of pizza! P could hardly get a few bites in, as she was so busy cutting more for the hungry little guy. We also had his other favorite food, which is birthday cake. He walked around singing Happy Birthday all night long. Nobody loves a birthday like Little N! I think a good time was had by all. At the very last minute, S realized we had forgotten to take A's picture in the birthday hat. The birthday hat is a V family tradition. Everyone has to wear it on their birthday and get their picture taken. So here is Auntie A, on her way out the door, wearing the birthday hat!

Little N's latest adventure

Last Saturday, Little N started a tumbling class. It is all 2-3 year olds(chaos) and they get to do all kinds of fun stuff. P forgot her camera last week, but we remembered this morning! Here is a picture of Little N on the balance beam. We still need a little practice with this one, but have 9 more weeks to master the skill! He did very good for a short distance and then decided it was just as fun to walk the whole beam, straddling it. Some more of Little N's favorite things there are the little trampoline and the tunnel they can crawl through. There are lots of little activities and the kids just work their way around the gym...the only down side is there are a lot of kids in Little N's class and the waiting at each thing really is a test on his 2 year-old patience! He sure does have fun though and at the end of each class, they get a fun stamp on their hand. Last week's said "Terrific" and this week's said "Wonderful." He thinks that is pretty special too!
If you ask Little N what he did in his class, he always says "jumping!"

We had our ultrasound today and....

IT'S A GIRL!!!!

That's right...Little N is going to have a little sister. I think the whole V family is quite suprised...well, maybe not Little N, he still does not quite believe that there is a baby in Mommy's tummy! S definitely thought it was a boy, in fact he told everyone that we would only have boys...boy are the rest of us going to have some fun rubbing this in! :) P was starting to believe it herself, but turns out those V genes wanted girls this year! S' brother M is having a girl the beginning of May and now we are due with one towards end of May. P's family hasn't had a girl in over 17 years, so excited does not even begin to describe them! We sure have a lot of work ahead of us. We have never even picked one girl name. With Little N, we waited until the ultrasound and then came up with our list of boy names. Yikes! This will be a whole new ballgame! P is already itching to get out and buy some adorable little girl clothes! When the ultrasound lady said "it looks like a girl," P said "no way!" and S said "we are going to go broke." P is going to try to control herself, but it will be hard!! Cute little girl clothes are definitely a weakness of hers! The best part of the day though was that we found out our baby looks very healthy with no problems and that is all we could have asked for! We are over halfway done with the pregnancy now, as P is starting week 22 out of 40. Can't wait to meet you Baby V(Scott calls her Peggy Sue...maybe we won't let him pick the name this time)!
Love,
P, S, Little N, and Baby V

Bubbles!

We have had a fairly uneventful week. P got to travel to Atlanta for work on Thursday and Friday for some training. It was 55 degrees, which was worth the trip right there! No jackets were worn...ahh the simple pleasures in life when you live in MN!

Little N has had a cold for awhile that turned into a double ear infection on Saturday, so now he is on Amoxicillin, which he thinks is "yummy." Due to this development, we hung around the house this weekend and watched way too many Elmo movies! We gave Little N his first bubble bath tonight. He was very excited when he looked in the tub and saw all the bubbles. He was a little less excited when he got in and decided that the bubbles were "sticky." I think he warmed up to the idea by the end, but he had a tough time with them sticking to him and his toys at first.

As our weekend comes to a close, we find ourselves in unfamiliar territory....we are actually looking forward to Monday! Tomorrow afternoon, S & P will be heading to the doctor for an ultrasound on Baby #2. Neither of us are very patient people and have been anxiously awaiting this day! We are crossing our fingers that this little one cooperates enough to let us find out if Little N will have a little brother or a little sister. So stay tuned for another exciting update this week...we hope! P does have a friend from college who is pregnant and her baby decided to keep things a secret, so we are hoping for better luck! Have a great week everyone!

Love,

P, S, Little N, and Baby #2

More Family Fun!

Our big news this week was that Little N's Uncle J came to visit for a few days. He has been in the Dominican Republic for the last 5 months with his fiance, B, who is in the Peace Corps. On his way back to Missoula, he stopped to hang with the family. Little N was VERY excited to have his buddy J here. They became good friends this last summer when Uncle J hung out with him at least one day a week. J had to leave on Saturday morning though to make the road trip back to Missoula to begin school on Monday. We will miss you Uncle J, but don't worry, we will come visit! This is a picture of Little N and his J, though not from this recent visit(P forgot to take out her camera the whole time! Bummer!).

We did have some other fun this weekend after Uncle J left. On Saturday, S went to work to do some side jobs, so P and Little N went out to the zoo with their friends C and Little Miss M. Little N had a very good time and was more than happy to just follow Miss M around and copy everything she did! Then, that night we went over to Little N's friend T's house for a night of running around the house, chasing each other, and playing to the point of exhaustion! P and S had fun too, as T's parents are good friends of theirs. When P goes back to work after having the new baby, Little N and baby will get to spend a couple of days a week at T's house, which we know will be lots of fun for them. He also will be going to T's house for a week this month when our friend TR2 goes on vacation to Barbados. Today we are mentally preparing for a 5 day work week. What torture...I think the holiday season has spoiled us! One thing we do have to look forward to is that we get to have an ultrasound for the new baby the next Monday. P and S are NOT patient people and are really hoping that baby will cooperate and we can find out if Little N will be getting a little sister or brother. Right now if we tell him that Mommy has a baby in her tummy, he shakes his head and says "No," but we are hoping to convince him one of these days! Happy New Year everyone!

Love,

P, S, and Little N
