We swear, we did make a baby out of love....

and not just for German engineering!

After much debating and a little test driving this week, the V family decided to take the leap and traded in our Passat for a VW Routan(minivan). I have gotten a lot of sympathetic looks from those I told I was getting a minivan, but I couldn't be more excited! I tend to carry the world with me in my car and the extra space will sure be nice. Also, with a couple of lengthy road trips coming up this summer, we are happy to have the extra room...and the DVD player to entertain Little N! I have always been a fan of trucks and vans over cars. I love to be higher up when driving down the road. One bonus we got with it was an automatic car starter. With no garage at our house, this will be so wonderful to have next winter! Little N is going to be very excited when he comes home from Grancy's house to see this. The morning after we went test driving, he woke up and said "want a new car." He will probably think we got it for him. Lots of new buttons to push(he will probably figure it all out before mom does)!
Here are some pics of our new ride:
This little guy was a gift to Little N from the manager at the dealership. Most kids get very excited when you take them to the toy store. If you want to see that kind of excitement out of Little N, just take him to a car dealership and let him "drive" the cars. He has so much fun and was really excited to see that his new bear had a VW on his tummy!
Have a great rest of the week everyone!

Time flies.....

...when it's nice outside! Sorry, I haven't been very good about updates lately. We have been very busy with bubbles and chalk and stroller rides and such! I know it could still get nasty, but we are pretending it won't and are enjoying all the great weather we've been having!

This Saturday, Little N had his last gymnastics class. Though he really enjoyed it, I think he will be fine with Saturdays of playing outside now that we have some nice weather. P was sad it was over because Little N really liked it, but so happy to have those 11 weeks done for her sake. It was getting a little tiring for her, what with all the constant up and down of sitting on the floor and then standing up and running around the gym after Little N.

For his last class, Little N's Granny and Grancy came to cheer him on. It was one of his better weeks, so he must have not wanted to disappoint his audience!

Baby #2

P had a doctor's appointment this week and all is well with baby #2. She has a good strong heartbeat and wow is she active! They did start P on some Iron pills because she was just a hair under where they would have liked, but no worries! Week 31 is almost done, which means we are in the single digits of weeks left to go! Little N has finally decided to believe that Mommy is having a baby. Yesterday he rubbed my stomach and said "there's the baby." Then he tickled me. I asked him if he was tickling Mommy and he sad "No, I am tickling the baby." I said, "do you think she is laughing?" and he said "no, Mommy, the baby doesn't laugh yet." Today he laid his head on my stomach and said "here's the baby." Guess I just had to give him some time for it to sink in!

Have a great week everyone!

Happy Birthday Great-Aunt B!!

P's Great-Aunt B turned 75 on Saturday! So, of course we had to have a party! We started out with dinner at Red Lobster. Yummy! Totally P's favorite place to eat! Then, we were off to Grancy's house for some birthday cake and....what else with this family, but domino's. It was a really fun night and there was a great turnout to help B celebrate. Here are some pics from the party.

Here's the birthday girl! Still looks young to us! Thanks for letting us celebrate with you B!

The jolly C clan!

A little "Happy Birthday to you!".....note the little onlooker in front

Some serious domino playing!

Cousin P tried to win Little N's heart with a sweet new tricycle...I think it worked!

Tons of fun was had by all! S even managed to win first place at his table! Wahoo!

The Silly Green Monster!

While at TR2's house this week, one of Little N's project themes was the color green. On Tuesday, he made a Silly Green Monster. When Mommy picked him up and asked him what it was, he excitedly yelled "Daddy!" We thought it was pretty funny, so P told S later that night and when S asked him about it the next day, he still said "that's Daddy." So here is a picture of S, aka the Silly Green Monster....green hair, googly eyes and all!

Happy Birthday to you Grandma!

Today is Mooma's birthday. To help her celebrate, we went to St. Louis last weekend for a visit. Here is a picture of the birthday girl.

And it just wouldn't be right if Little N didn't help blow out those candles. There is nothing that kid loves more than a good round of "Happy Birthday" and some birthday cake!

We also went to a place called Monkey Joe's, which is a play zone for kids filled with inflatable toys to play in. Little N was a little too close to naptime to really get into it, but he did try out a few. I think he also wished he had a friend with, so maybe we will try again this summer with cousin J. Here are a couple pics of Monkey Joe's:

This driving game was by far Little N's favorite part. So much that we had some tears leaving. So, we told him if he took a good nap, he could try driving at Grandma and Grandpa's house. Turns out we are very excited there are 12 whole years before he gets to try this for real. Yikes! A little Mariokart action!
