N-isms for the day

So, on our drive home from TR2's house today, N said a few things that cracked me up and I just thought I would share....

First, M was crying in her car seat as we started out, and he just kept saying "aye, aye, aye M!"  Not sure who he got that from, but it was funny to hear a little guy saying that.

Then, he insisted that he call Grancy, so I dialed her up, and I hear him say "You are at your office? Are you doing oatmeal on your computer?" I thought for a few seconds and realized he was talking about email. We were at Grancy's office on Thanksgiving and she and I walked into her office to find N in her chair at the desk working in her Outlook email. Hope he didn't delete too many! :)

As he was chatting with his Grancy, he yells "Mommy, there's a police car!" Indeed, there was a police car with lights flashing on the side of the road. Then, he says "just a minute Grancy" and puts his hand over the mouthpiece, like the police car is just too important not to deal with immediately. Cracked me up!

I love all the little mannerisms he picks up from us when we don't even realize he is paying attention...all good so far thankfully! We try to be careful!

Love you N! Thanks for making me laugh!

Love,

Mommy

Corn on the cob anyone???

Miss M here! Last week, I had a few rough nights where I did not let Mommy get much sleep. I was also chewing on anything within reach, mostly my hands! I did have a bit of a cold, but Mommy was pretty sure that my teeth were causing me to be a little out of sorts. So, I have been letting Mommy check on those little pearly whites every day and today, I finally got my very first tooth! I wouldn't let her photograph it, but here are some pictures of me today in my new dress! Some of our friend's do a "Sunday's best" every week with their little girl's, but typically Sunday's are our lazy days where we just work around the house and I am usually in my Jammies all day! So, we thought we would take advatage today!

Here are a couple more pictures of me from last week...

This is a new hat that came in the mail for me last week....Mommy and Daddy's friend P2 made it for me and I am very cute and elf-like in it! :)

Daddy was in the kitchen the other day and heard me giggling in the Living Room, so he came to see what was going on. Here I was, playing peek-a-boo with myself! I crack myself up sometimes!

Have a great day!

Miss M

Getting ready for Christmas!

Today, while N was eating lunch, I thought maybe I would start prepping him for Christmas. We discussed how we were going to start decorating the house today, and how soon we would get a tree, and if he was a really good boy, Santa would leave him presents under the tree. Then, a little later, he was resisting naptime and I said, "N, you need a nap so that you will be happy tonight." He said "Where are we going to go? To Christmas?" Maybe I should have just waited. 4 weeks is going to seem like eternity to a 3 year old!

We decided to take advantage of the rare occasion where both kids are napping at the same time this afternoon and put up the christmas lights. Just as we were almost done, Miss M woke up. Since she loves the outdoors so much, I decided to bundle her up and help S finish the job.

That tongue is almost always out these days! :) Silly girl!

She just looked too cute in her snowsuit, so we had to take some pictures!

N woke up as we were finishing and was very excited about the lights and of course wanted to help. We have a little tree that we put in the porch, so N and S stayed outside and decorated the tree with lights. After he came in, I let him have his first ever cup of hot chocolate. He said "Mommy, I like it! It's so yummy!" Looks a little like his Daddy with that mustache! :)

I am so looking forward to the holidays this year with the kids. N is so into the lights and Santa and just the holiday in general, whereas in past years I think he didn't fully know what was going on and M just enjoys everything, so it should be a blast!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Happy Turkey Day!

This year for Thanksgiving we got together with P's family at Grancy's office downtown St. Paul. She moved to a new office a few months ago and it is very nice. There were 40 of us there and it was so much fun! This year, I was most thankful for family, both our own little family, with N and M and our extended families. We love you all so much! We are also thankful for all of our friends and love you too!

M eating her turkey! Happy Thanksgiving everyone! N was so excited for the party, that he must not have noticed M until we were eating that day. All of a sudden he said "Oh! M has her really cool dancing clothes on!"  That must be what you do when you dress up...go dancing!

N and Daddy

Grandma C, M with Beanie, everyone just letting the turkey settle

N playing "Cut the turkey's head off"

When we got home, M had just a little bit of hat hair, which we thought was too funny not to capture.

Hope everyone had a great day!

Pictures

Here are the pictures that should have gone with my last entry!

Happy Birthday T!

Last week Grancy made a turkey and she said when she was washing it in the sink, it kind of reminded her of M....hehe. So, here is our little Butterball Turkey taking a bath in the sink! Though, we think maybe her legs have more meat on them than the turkey! :-)

Happy Girl! Showing off those rolls on the legs! I just love 'em!

This is her new fascination. Her tongue!

N went to church on Sunday morning and when he went 2 weeks ago, they had donuts and since he had been good, he got one. There were no donuts this week, so D stopped on the way home and bought some. Look at the size of the one he picked! Needless to say, there was some left this morning...mostly the bottom half! :)

Deer Hunting, take three!

Well, it is now the 3rd, and final :),  weekend of deer hunting and the kids and I are up in Chisago with the H family again. So far no deer for the hunters. We are having a blast though! We had a birthday dinner for T tonight, who turns the big 1-6 next week! Pics to follow, as I forgot my camera cord. I can't believe he is turning 16! That makes me feel far more old than my 30th birthday did. I remember him being born like it was yesterday! I have had so much fun watching him grow into the great person he is today. He is so fantastic with my children, so smart, and just a great person. We love you T! Thanks for letting us hang for the weekend H family! D made a fantastic birthday dinner and Granny came to eat with us.  D and I decorated holiday cutout cookies today, as is our annual tradition for as long as I can remember.

Both N and M have yucky colds right now, but it sure hasn't gotten them down any! N is so busy playing with the boys and M is all smiles, even with her stuffy nose and cough. Here's to hoping M sleeps wll tonight and the colds are better by Monday!

The big move!

Well, finally the day came where Miss M's room was complete...at least complete enough for the big move! It is all ready to go, with the exception of hanging a couple shelves and curtains on one of the windows. She seems to enjoy every detail, which makes all the work worth it. I laid her on her changing table last night and she kept grinning at the flowers on the wall.  Then, I laid her in her crib for the first time and she squealed with delight for about 30 min. She rolled all over in it, grinning. She even examined her bumper pad up close and seemed to like it! :) I'm so glad it makes her happy because it makes me happy when I look at it to. Enjoy M! We love you! And a HUGE thanks to Grancy for all of her help! I may have never finished without her!

It fits just right!

All ready for her first night in her room. Mommy was both happy and sad at the same time.

Examining the bumper pad. It's really soft and she liked the bumps on it!

Have a great week everyone!

Love,

P

Weekend getaway!

For the weekend of opening deer hunting, I mentioned that the kids and I went to stay with the H family. We had so much fun! I just wanted to post a pic of D and the kids, playing.

Also, this week, I worked from home one day because N had a little cough. He of course seemed fine after I made the decision to stay home and started working, but it was nice to be able to be home and they were both very good about letting me work. Both kids are so good at entertaining themselves. As I was working away, M was driving her car. Then I see N come out of his room with his tools. I said, "N what are you going to do with the tools?" His response was, "Madison's car needs an oil change!" His Daddy would have been so proud. So, I stopped to watch him change the oil and was amazed by how he seemed to understand the basics of the process. Too funny!

Happy Birthday to us!

It has now been one year since we started our blog! We hope you have enjoyed reading about our adventures! I am really enjoying updating everyone on our lives, though I wish I could find more time to do it! It is weekend #2 of deer hunting for S. He got himself a 6 point buck last week. No sightings for anyone today. The kids and I were invited up to the H family's house, where we went last weekend(pics soon), but I opted to stay home with the kids and do some work on our house. The main goal for the weekend is to finish M's room and think we are going to make it! Hoping to finish up a couple of tiny touches and post pics tomorrow! It has turned out even better than I pictured it, mostly due to my talented mother. She has helped paint, carpet, and now made the cutest curtains ever! Even N thinks that they are "super cool."  Hoping to post the finished pics tomorrow or Monday night!

Funny N story to share before I sign off for the night....Grancy, the kids, and I made a run to Jo-Ann today for a few things. As we were waiting in line to pay, N grabbed a pack of Rolos off the shelf and said "I need these." He had been energetic to say the least all day, so I said, "No, N, I don't think we need these today." Then as we paid and left the store, he repeatedly was asking us if we had bought him M & Ms. As I drove out of the parking lot, Grancy opened some candy she had bought for herself and was eating it. N could not see her, but suddenly yelled "I can smell that candy!"  Oh we had a good laugh at that one. Can't get anything by that kid!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Miss M

Miss M is already changing so fast that this post is just to show a couple of her adventures in the last week.....and an update on her new room!

Stay off the roads...here she comes! She was pretty pleased with the car! She has been wanting to be upright more and more lately, so this weekend I got out the car, washed it all up and plopped her in it! I think that this will be the hardest toy for N to share. He still loves this toy and used to play with it every time he would go down to the basement where it was kept. Like a good big brother though, he stood on the outside and showed her the ropes.

This little adventure took M about 5 seconds I swear! I put her in her gym today and went into the kitchen to get N a drink. When I came back out, I saw she had managed to leave the excitement of the gym and got ahold of N's helicopter. She was laying there spinning the blades. She's going to keep us on our toes I think!

On Sunday, Grancy brought N home from his sleepover at her house and we began adding the finishing touches to M's room. S put up her crib and we moved N's dresser in there and Grancy started painting the flowers on her wall. I am hoping to put the finishing touches on this week and then we will do the big move from upstairs to her own room. Hope to post pics within the week! While we have been working on her room, N keeps telling us that he wants a new room too. So, when we moved his dresser into M's room, S and Grancy went out and bought N a new chest of drawers. He was very excited about this....mostly I think to "help" S put it together, but he does love it. Thanks Grancy for all your help and for N's new furniture. He loves it and so do we!

Rough N' Tough

Last Friday, we went over to see Cousins J & S and to get N a haircut from Auntie A. The babies had the best time with each other. They were hilarious! S would put her arm around the back of M....maybe a hug?? Maybe a headlock?? Then one would shover her fingers in the other's mouth and the other would reciprocate. They were pulling hair and ears and rolling on each other and having a good old time chatting back and forth. So much fun to watch! I think these two will be good friends!

Playing nice together

Hugging or wrestling??? Not sure, but cute either way!

Too funny!

Just hanging out together

Cousins

M didn't get a haircut, but we did give her a cute little Pebble's do!

Happy Halloween!!

Some of our Halloween pics. At first this year, Little N was not super into the holiday. When we asked him if he wanted to be a tiger or a fireman, he would get a little upsate and say "I just want to be Nathan!" So, one day, I took out Miss M's costume and tried it on her. Immediately N got a little jealous and wanted to try his on too and so on went the tiger costume and he loved it so much that on Sunday he wanted to wear it again!

Here's our little pumpkin!

Daddy and the kids getting ready to go

Our adorable tiger!

The little peapod!

The kids together after trick-or-treating. N really got into it after a couple houses. As we left each house, he would start running to the next and yell "Let's do another one!" Glad he had fun! I know we did watching him. And the little Sweet Pea was happy to just tag along in her stroller! :)

26 Weeks!

I think the outfit pretty well says it all! Such a happy little girl! M all those smiles of yours sure make our days brighter! Love you!

Carving pumpkins

N and Daddy carved their pumpkin earlier last week. N was a lot braver than last year and even helped clean the "guts" out! He wanted a pumpkin with round eyes and a big laughing mouth...I'd say S did exactly that!
