Just one more day

Whenever we go down to G & G's house, we always find ourselves wanting "just one more day." So, this time we planned ahead and just took Monday off. It made the weekend a lot less rushed and improved our chances of getting on a flight!

We went out to a wild bird sanctuary on Monday and walked around there on a beautiful day to check out all the cool birds.

Our first little guy we saw

Streeeetch!

Wink, wink

M chatted with these two pelicans for a good 5 minutes. It was so funny!

Out to lunch before heading home.

What a great weekend! Thanks to G & G for having us! Hope Grandpa had a good birthday!

Happy Easter

We continued some of our Easter traditions down there like having the Easter bunny hide the baskets and eggs outside. No egg rolling this year, but we had so much fun, they didn't even ask!

My two bunnies

Found my basket! The Easter Bunny underestimated his skills this year. Tool about 10 seconds. Haha

Big brother helped Miss M find hers

Grandma even wore her bunny hat

Checking out the baskets

Checking out her candy

Starting off the egg hunt!

That bag looks heavy!

Grandpa is helping count to determine if we found all the eggs

This made me laugh. I feel like I will happen upon this same scene in about 12 years.

N, playing with his airplane the Easter bunny brought him

The look on her face makes me laugh out loud! This was a bug she got in her basket. I also love that she is wearing one of her brother's biking gloves(backwards) on her other hand. She wore them much of the weekend.

This year Grandpa's birthday was on Easter Sunday! So, we had an extra special dinner!

The birthday hat even grew ears for the day!

STL fun

When we got back from our egg hunt on Saturday(Grandma had stayed behind to wait for the pool company), this is what we saw...one dirty, but open pool!
Hello, friend! We've missed you!

Speaking of friends.....Miss M was VERY excited to see hers, back at his post!

Grandma, enjoying the day on the deck

Got the sandbox all opened up and ready to go!
Happy as a lark!

Still need some work, not touching it to our lips. :)

Soulard Easter Egg Hunt!

For Easter weekend, we headed down to G & G's house for a long weekend. The Saturday before Easter, we went to the Soulard Easter egg hunt. We got some yummy bbq first and ate in the park and walked up just in time for the hunt. The kids, of course, had a blast.

Sunning

Some people's pets can be found sunning themselves, wherever the sun falls on the floor....

Zoo Day

Lately, I have been working weekend days and taking off weekdays with the kids, in exchange. It's really a great deal because I can do it when I want, I get SO much more done on those weekend days at work, we have had some great days during the week, taking field trips, visiting friends, plus we save on daycare costs. A great deal indeed!

One of our recent days off, we went to the zoo to check out the new baby animals!

My sweet, sweet boy! Cute too! ;)

A couple N stories

First of all N is on a mission to get some more babies in this world! He is constantly on my case to have another baby and also frequently complaining because he only has two cousins. That is just not enough! My favorite conversations with N always happen in the car. Here is one from a few weeks ago:

N: "Mom, I want to be a kid forever.
Me: "Why?"
N: "When you're a kid, you get to do way more fun stuff . I'm really glad I don't have to be a mom!"
Me: (Laughing and just can't wait to hear the reasoning behind this one!) "Why?"
N: "I really wouldn't want to get a baby cut out of my tummy...or sometimes it comes our your bottom."

I then say something about how he doesn't need to worry because he will get to be a Dad and that is really fun too. Then, silence from the back...

Wait for it...

N: "Mom, how does the baby get in your tummy? "
Hahaha! Oh, my "Little N", please stay a kid forever!!

Another random car moment....just driving down the road and N says "Mom, this has been a really fun year, hasn't it?" I love how sweet he is and how much he seems to enjoy life!

I was reading M's fortune the other day... "you will bring joy to someone close to you."

N: "What's joy?"
Me: "It means she will make some happy."
N:  "Oh! You mean happy like h-a-p-p-y?"
Me: "Yes."
N:  "And joy is j-o-y."

Such a smarty!

A couple weekends ago we were getting ready to go to Grancy's....

N:  "Mom, I am bringing my camera to Grancy's today." (He has a kid's digital camera)
Me: "Why?"
N:  "Because I have z-e-r-o pictures of Grancy on this camera!"
Life had become more challenging for me and S, now that we can't spell over him to communicate certain things.
Love you N!

A Domino Party

Every once in awhile, all the ladies in my family get together for a domino party. My Aunt CJ recently had us all over for some dominos, great food, and fun!

My Aunt CJ...the hostess with the mostess!

One of the three tables we had going!

Miss C(my Aunt L's niece) and Miss A(my flower girl, who is growing so big!)

A little treat I made. They were little "gardens" with carrots in them

My other treat I brought...mmmm, one of my favorites!
We were also celebrating five March birthdays! Here are the beautiful birthday gals!

Happy Birthday to you!

Domino cake! Yummy!
