Feed The Starving Children

Last week, P's company signed up for a bunch of shifts to help a non-profit organization called Feed The Starving Children. We went and made food bags to send to countries with starving children. The food goes to missionaries and orphanages and each malnourished child is put on this feeding plan for a year. We were only there for 2 hours during my shift and made enough meals to feed 33 children for 1 year. Our meals we made that day went to the Dominican Republic. They help many other countries as well. It was a really great feeling to be able to help and was fun to actually see the product of your labors as we filled all the boxes to ship! I feel very fortunate to have a job I love, at a company that I really am proud to work for. This is just one of those things that makes me proud to be an employee of Mesaba Airlines and to work alongside all the wonderful people that I do and that were willing to sign up to help with this important cause. Here are a couple pics from our day:

Concentrating as I seal the bags...mostly trying not to burn my fingers. :)

Stacking them in the packing area

My friend BF on the left helping at another work station

Our Mesaba crew that worked my shift

What a great organization. They make it so easy to help. A two hour shift just flew by and we really felt like we made a difference as we left. I would recommend this activity to any groups looking to do a little community service!

Bookworms!

All her life, P has been a huge bookworm and it makes me smile every time I see the kids loving to read books too!
This book is almost as big as her, but she was determined to read it!

Such concentration!

Feeling like a big girl in N's chair!

Little Bookworm indeed!

Love you little readers!

Little Bunny Foo Foo

This is Little N's favorite song right now. Tears are shed if Mommy doesn't sing it on request. And speaking of little bunnies...

Crazy pigtails

Have a great rest of the week!

Stay-cation

We had ourselves a little "pretend vacation" last weekend. While growing up, a special treat in P's family was always to stay at the Embassy Suites. Her Granny worked there, so it was extra fun! I still love to do this, even though Granny retired long ago. So, last Saturday, we got ourselves a room and headed out for a weekend of wearing swimsuits and sandals! We invited Little N's BFF, Mr. T, and his family along. It was so much fun! S & P were excited because they got to hang out with their friends E & MJ and Mr. T and Little N tore it up all weekend long! The babies were just along for the ride. :) Here are some pics of our fun in the pool.

All ready to swim! Looks fun!

Yeah! The water is even warm!

M very much enjoyed the pool...mostly she played with her feet.

M and Baby J, supervising

What a difference 6 months made. The last time N swam was August and he was a maniac! He would jump in all by himself and then swim across the pool. No assistance needed. I was a very proud Mommy!

Thanks J family for coming along. We had a blast!

Moving on up!

Last week S & P bought themselves the best present ever....something they have been meaning to do for a few years now....

Hint....here's the before picture...

Carpeting!!! We carpeted the dining room and living room and we love it! What a difference. It's warmer and much more comfy to lay on to play with the kiddos.

Ooh....Ahh!!

This little one is itching to go now that she has a much softer surface to travel on

This stuff tickles!

Watch out guys...here I go! What a difference it really did make for Miss M. She travels all over now, crawling backwards and getting stuck. Before the carpetiing, she mostly preferred to sit up and play.

Ready...Set...Go! N's favorite activity!

One of the highlights of the carpeting is that it works like a mute button on this truck! :) Yay for our sanity!

As you can see, it was a hit with all the V's! I smile every time I come home and see it.

Being Silly

Here are a couple pictures of Miss M after playing with her silly Daddy

What's going on Mommy?

Hahaha! I get it! I look silly!

Happy Valentine's Day!

We hope everyone had a great day and got to spend some time with those that they love! We were fortunate enough to have Grancy offer to babysit and got to catch a movie and go out to dinner. A real date! S leaves for Chicago tomorrow until Friday for VW school, so it was nice to have a little time to ourselves. Love you S! Couldn't as for a better valentine! And here are some pics of the little valentines....

We love you our sweet little valentines!

Playing nice together....look at that girl! Standing all by herself!

Psst....telling secrets

Where is the Pause Button?

Eight months ago, our sweet little M entered our lives. She is so smiley and fun! Every day we are thankful for her and I would often like a pause button to just slow things down a little to enjoy our "baby time" more! She is growing and changing so fast and though it is great fun to watch her learn new things and become more independent, some days I just want to enjoy the baby stage of her life a little more! Here are some pictures of M on her 8 month birthday:
This is her favorite way to play

One of her favorite toys right now...the stacker

Little thumbsucker

Gotta taste all the toys

Such a happy girl

She gotten very good at picking up her puffs and eating them

Yummy!

Thanks for visiting! Have a great weekend everyone!

Love,

The V's

N's new talent

One of N's favorite activities to do lately is puzzles. He is getting very good at them and can do 24 piece puzzles all by himself, with no coaching. We think he's quite the little smarty pants! :)
His new Very Hungry Caterpillar puzzle!

A visit to St. Louis

Last weekend, we hopped a plane south to see G & G! What a blast! We went to The Magic House, which is St. Louis' children's museum. So much fun! Here are a few pics from our weekend:

Big musical wheel

Jack's beanstalk...the kids could climb from the 1st floor to the 3rd

Bubble organ

Wall of pins....this is S, testing it out with his face

Thanks G & G! We had so much fun!
