Feed The Starving Children

Last week, P's company signed up for a bunch of shifts to help a non-profit organization called Feed The Starving Children. We went and made food bags to send to countries with starving children. The food goes to missionaries and orphanages and each malnourished child is put on this feeding plan for a year. We were only there for 2 hours during my shift and made enough meals to feed 33 children for 1 year. Our meals we made that day went to the Dominican Republic. They help many other countries as well. It was a really great feeling to be able to help and was fun to actually see the product of your labors as we filled all the boxes to ship! I feel very fortunate to have a job I love, at a company that I really am proud to work for. This is just one of those things that makes me proud to be an employee of Mesaba Airlines and to work alongside all the wonderful people that I do and that were willing to sign up to help with this important cause. Here are a couple pics from our day:

Concentrating as I seal the bags...mostly trying not to burn my fingers. :)

What a great organization. They make it so easy to help. A two hour shift just flew by and we really felt like we made a difference as we left. I would recommend this activity to any groups looking to do a little community service!
